Explore the Civil War in Egglescliffe and Yarm

Discover the heritage of the local area from the Medieval period to the First World War.

Following the success of our Tees Archaeology talks last year, we are pleased to announce that we extending the series in 2017 with new talks and two local walks. There will also be a chance to see objects from the museum’s collection.


Explore the Civil War in Egglescliffe and Yarm Sunday 18 June- FULLY BOOKED Follow in the footsteps of the ‘Roundheads’ and ‘Cavaliers’ and retrace the story of the fight for the river crossing at Yarm. Meet in St John's Church, Egglescliffe. Walk starts at 2pm and finishes at 4pm. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. Limited to 20 people.

Talks will take place on the first Tuesday of every month from May to November (excluding August) at 10am.

Meet outside the Winter Garden at Preston Park Museum. Walk starts at 10am and finishes at 11am Please wear suitable clothing and footwear.
