Discover the heritage of the local area from the Medieval period to the First World War.

Following the success of our Tees Archaeology talks last year, we are pleased to announce that we extending the series in 2017 with new talks and two local walks. There will also be a chance to see objects from the museum’s collection.

Railways and the Industrial Revolution Tuesday 5 September Find out how the opportunities brought by steam, speed and local iron ore, changed Teesside within a generation.

Talks will take place on the first Tuesday of every month from May to November (excluding August) at 10am.


Discover the Stockton and Darlington Railway Track Bed Tuesday 19 September, 10-11am Walk part of the route of the original Stockton & Darlington Railway and discover hidden links to Preston Park Museum. Meet outside the Winter Garden at Preston Park Museum. Walk starts at 10am and finishes at 11am Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. Limited to 20 people.
