Following the success of our Tees Archaeology talks last year, we are pleased to announce that we extending the series in 2017 with new talks and two local walks. There will also be a chance to see objects from the museum’s collection.
War and Peace - the Civil War and beyond Tuesday 6 June The 1600s were turbulent times. Discover evidence of the Civil War between King and Parliament against the backdrop of an area moving from the medieval world towards greater prosperity.

Talks will take place on the first Tuesday of every month from May to November (excluding August) at 10am.
Explore the Civil War in Egglescliffe and Yarm Sunday 18 June, 2-4pm Follow in the footsteps of the ‘Roundheads’ and ‘Cavaliers’ and retrace the story of the fight for the river crossing at Yarm. Meet in St John's Church, Egglescliffe. Walk starts at 2pm and finishes at 4pm. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. Limited to 20 people.
Discover the Stockton and Darlington Railway Track Bed Tuesday 19 September, 10-11am Walk part of the route of the original Stockton & Darlington Railway and discover hidden links to Preston Park Museum. Meet outside the Winter Garden at Preston Park Museum. Walk starts at 10am and finishes at 11am Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. Limited to 20 people.
