Over 100 volunteers and local community groups have been working hard throughout the year to create a 20ft crotchet Christmas tree. The tree is made with 1,000 knitted and crotched festive squares and will be on display in Preston Park Museum’s iconic Winter Garden until the 5 January 2020.
Families are invited to come along and spot squares on the tree that show lines from the traditional carol ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’.
At the end of Christmas, the crochet squares will be turned into blankets and donated to local charities.
Thank you to everyone who has been involved – it has been a tree-mendous effort!
How long will the Christmas tree be on display?
The Community Crochet Christmas Tree is on display in our Winter Garden from the 28 November 2019 until the 5 January 2020. For museum opening hours see here.
