Talk: Captain James Cook: His Life & Voyages

Join Phil Philo to discover the story of the man who is perhaps Yorkshire's greatest son.  250 years ago, James Cook was in the middle of his first great voyage exploring the Pacific Ocean.  But how did the boy from Marton, Cleveland, become the leader of this epic voyage?   And what led him to undertake two more 3 year long expeditions, which finally led to his death in Hawai'i in 1779?

Refreshments served from 10am. Talk starts at 10.30am.
