Victorians

We’ve put together a range of resources and activities based on our Victorian workshops for primary schools. Each section will focus on something different, but don’t feel like you have to do the whole topic in one day.

These resources are great to use as a springboard to get you started and inspire you to find out more about the Victorian era. If you need any support or additional materials please get in touch.

Victorian School Day

In Victorian times, schools were very different. The teacher would be very strict, punishments were severe and often only the privileged could attend. The following pages are based on the topic of Victorian Schools; there are fun facts, activities, challenges and things to think about.

The resources have been created with KS1/2 in mind, however they can also be used to introduce the topic to other year groups.

Victorian Home

Home is where the heart is! Discover what Preston Hall and other Victorian homes would have been like and how they compare with our homes today. There are fun facts, activities, challenges and things to think about.

Toys

Here at the museum we have lots of toys that we look after but we need your help to understand them better.  The following pages are based on the topic of Traditional Toys; there are fun facts, activities, challenges and things to think about.
