Families

Here at Preston Park, we are proud to be recognised as one of the most popular family destinations in the area. We’re always here to help you make special family memories, whether you spend the day exploring our woodland walks and adventure playground or you opt for a fun and educational browse around our Museum and Victorian Street.

Our calendar is always busy with a range of fun and interactive family events, so don’t forget to check out what’s on before planning your next visit. There’s something for everyone, from open-air theatre productions to seasonal craft workshops and everything in between!

Toilets

There are toilets located on both floors of the museum, these can be found next to the lifts as well as on the Victorian Street.

Accessible toilets are located on the ground floor, next to the lift and on the first floor next to the Exhibition gallery.

In the park, toilets are next to the cafe by the adventure play area.

Baby Changing Facilities

Changing facilities are available in the Victorian Street and in the park, adjacent to the cafe.

Baby Feeding

Preston Park Museum aims to be inclusive and welcoming to everyone; this includes parents visiting with infants.

We are part of the Breastfeeding Welcome scheme. Breastfeeding and bottle feeding are permitted anywhere on the grounds but should parents require more privacy, then please ask a member of staff.

Food and Drink

The tea room on the Victorian Street offers children’s picnic boxes as well as biscuits, cakes and drinks.

High chairs are available. Due to limited space within the tea room, we ask that you kindly leave pushchairs outside.

We also have designated picnic areas in the park if you would like to bring your own food and drink.

Our cafe in the park is located right next to the adventure play area and serves quick snacks and treats.

Accessibility

The park has many accessible paths, however there are also a number of rough and uneven pathways which can be difficult to navigate, especially in wet conditions.

The museum is wheelchair and pushchair accessible.  The galleries can be accessed via a lift next to the Museum Gift Shop and on the Victorian Street. Please be aware that our gardens are accessed via a gravel path.

We do not have a Buggy Park.
