Museum Makers: Home Educated Families Workshop
Join us for a Big Science workshop designed for home educated families, as part of the Museum Makers series across Tees Valley museums.
A lively, hands‑on session packed with interactive experiments designed to spark curiosity and inspire budding scientists of all ages.
What to expect:
- 1 hour session led by Big Science
- aimed at home educated families
- aimed at children aged 7-11 years old
- small group of 10 children
- step back in time on the Victorian Street and discover how Stockton chemist John Walker invented the friction match in 1826
- after your session, you can visit the museum at your own pace

You need to book a ticket to attend this event.
This event is free to attend and includes one free accompanying adult per child.
If you'd like to bring additional adults or children who aren't taking part in the activity, they're very welcome — they will just need to pay the standard Museum admission fee.
