Meet Father Christmas: Relaxed Session
Meet Father Christmas in the beautiful Music Room at Preston Park Museum. This relaxed session for families with SEN offers a calm, welcoming space with fewer visitors, so you can experience the festivities at your own pace.
Father Christmas will be waiting by the grand fireplace, ready to welcome families. Every child will receive a special gift and enjoy a magical moment meeting Father Christmas.
The festive fun doesn't stop there! Families can make magic reindeer food to take home and explore the enchanting traditions of a Victorian Christmas throughout the museum.
What to expect
- Father Christmas will be sat in his chair in our Music Room from 2 to 3pm. You are welcome to drop-in anytime during this hour.
- each child will receive a gift
- the Music Room is located in The Hall at Preston Park Museum
- we'll be keeping the group size small, with up to 25 children in the session
- there will be a colouring station and sensory toys available
Experience a magical Victorian Christmas
This Christmas, we're delighted to welcome you back to Preston Park Museum for a truly special festive season — our first since completing a multi-million-pound transformation, including the opening of the stunning new The Spence Building. Some of the highlights include:
- explore the magical Victorian Street, decorated for Christmas
- make magic reindeer food to help guide the sleigh on Christmas Eve
- Explore the Victorian sweet shop, dress up in period costume, and capture the moment in our vintage photography studio.
- Follow the 12 Days of Christmas Trail to uncover hidden surprises throughout the museum.
- afterwards, take a break and enjoy festive treats from The Spence Café, located in our beautiful new building
- see our captivating exhibitions, including the interactive playscape, All Aboard! and Corridors by Rebecca Louise Law
